Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

Meet the Nepal Treks and Tour team at the Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome you and escort you to the hotel. They will welcome and drop you at your hotel in a private vehicle.

Let them help you with your luggage. Feel free to ask them any questions you have. Settle in your hotel and rest. Later, visit the Garden of Dreams in the evening.

It is located at the entrance of Thamel, the tourist hub in Kathmandu Valley. You will be staying in Thamel. End the day exploring the bustling streets of Thamel.

 

Day 2: Guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu

On the second day of the tour, you will explore historical sites in Kathmandu. Meet your tour guide after breakfast in your hotel lobby. He will brief you on the day program. Make sure to pack a water bottle and some cash in small notes for the tour.

You will visit Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. These are some of the must-visit tourist sites in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive to Trisuli River for a day rafting and drive to Chitwan

Our team of professional rafters will raft with you, ensuring your safety. Enjoy different rapids and the thrill of water-water rafting. After rafting, rest for a bit, then drive to Chitwan.

You will visit a rural Tharu village in the evening to see their lifestyle. Tharus are one of the indigenous groups in Nepal. See their traditional stick dance and vibrant attires before returning to the hotel to spend the night.

 

Day 4: Full-day activities in the Chitwan National Park

Duration: 4-5 hours

Start the morning with a big breakfast and get ready for a full day of adventure in the Chitwan National Park. You will experience a jeep safari that will take you deep into the jungle.

Day 5: Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara

Day 6: Drive to Sarangkot early in the morning and take a sightseeing tour in Pokhara

Day 7: Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu

On this day, you will travel back to Kathmandu. The ride will be comfortable and scenic, like the last time. Enjoy views of rolling hills, terraces, rivers, and waterfalls during the ride.

The guide will drop you at the hotel upon reaching Kathmandu. The remaining day is free. Unpack and rest. Later, enjoy window shopping in Thamel. We will meet in the late evening for a farewell dinner.

A decent hotel in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan can cost you USD 25 to USD 45 per night. Likewise, there are also hotels/lodges available at USD 7 to USD 12 per night.

Travelers hostels at cheaper rates are also found in all three cities, but you will be sharing the rooms with fellow travelers. Our tour package already includes hotels as per the itinerary, so you do not have to worry about finding a place.

 

What will you eat and drink during the tour?

In the tour package, you will get breakfasts in your hotel in all three cities. Lunch and dinner are only included in Chitwan. In Kathmandu and Pokhara, you are free to buy food of your choice for lunch and dinner. In total, you will get six breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners.

You do not have to have breakfast provided by your hotel. You can freely choose to have breakfast at your choice of place, but the package will not cover the expenses. Kathmandu has all kinds of restaurants and cafes serving cuisines from around the world.

We highly recommend travelers taste as many Nepali dishes as possible to make their journey immersive. Some must-try dishes are sekuwa, chatamari, cholia, tass, Thakali khana set, Newari khaja set, selroti, gundruk, momo, local chow mein, stick foods, titaura, etc.

Similarly, some restaurants specialize in cuisines like Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Chinese, Thai, and many more. Especially in Kathmandu and Pokhara, the options are limitless. You will also find ample vegetarian and vegan food options.

You can expect to pay USD 15 to USD 25 per person for a main dish and a non-alcoholic drink at a decent place for lunch and dinner. There are also cafes where you can have a full meal under USD 10. A pizza can cost you USD 6 to USD 12.
