See Everest, Ama Dablam and Tengboche Monastery in 11 days for $1,250 — without going to Base Camp. Max altitude 3,880 m, beginner-friendly, with a rest day in Namche.

You do not have to reach Base Camp to stand in front of Everest. The Everest View Trek is 11 days for $1,250 all-inclusive: fly to Lukla, walk to Namche and Tengboche, and see Everest, Ama Dablam and Lhotse from the famous Everest View Hotel — then walk back down. Same mountains, far less altitude.

Altitude: High Enough for Everest, Low Enough to Enjoy It

The Everest View Trek tops out at 3,880 m — the viewpoint at the Everest View Hotel. Tengboche Monastery sits at 3,860 m. Compare that with Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m and Kala Patthar at 5,545 m: the View trek stays roughly 1,500 m lower, which is why it suits first-time trekkers. There is a rest day at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) to help you acclimatise before you go higher.

Who It's For: First Trekkers and Anyone Short on Time

This is our beginner-friendly Everest trek — the site's own description calls it perfect for families and first-time trekkers. It is 11 days from Kathmandu, groups run from 1 to 20 trekkers, and licensed guides lead every group. If you have never trekked at altitude, or you want Everest views without the two-week commitment and the extreme altitude of Base Camp, this is the trek to pick.

Seniors and Families: Why the View Trek Works

The lower maximum altitude is the point: at 3,880 m the trek is far less demanding on the body than Base Camp, and the rest day in Namche gives everyone time to adjust before the highest viewpoints. There is no technical climbing, the walking days are on the same well-worn trail used by the Base Camp trek, and teahouses provide food and beds each night. Meals are bed and breakfast (lunch and dinner are not included, so budget for those on the trail). Keep 2 buffer days at the end of your trip — Lukla flights can be delayed by bad weather.

Tengboche: The Monastery with the Best View in Nepal

Tengboche Monastery (3,860 m) is the spiritual and scenic high point of the trek. From here the panorama includes Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Nuptse, with the monastery, prayer flags and the peaks in one view. It is the view most trekkers photograph — and the one the trek is named for.

What the $1,250 includes: airport transfers, 3-star hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast, teahouse accommodation, trek meals (bed & breakfast), Lukla flights (Kathmandu–Lukla or Ramechhap–Lukla), Sagarmatha National Park Permit and TIMS, a porter (1 per 2 trekkers), staff expenses including insurance, sleeping bags and duffle bags, a medical kit, farewell dinners, and taxes. Not included: visa fee, lunch and dinner on the trek, international flights, travel and rescue insurance, personal expenses and tips. Best time: spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). A 20% advance deposit secures your place.

Everest View Trek — $1,250 per person. Next guaranteed departure: 10 November 2026.
